Photoshop Videos

As mentioned on my 'Brief&Preliminary' page, I haven't had much practice with Photoshop which therefore had an impact on my performing skills. To make sure that I knew what to do, I searched a few help videos. All four videos were found on YouTube by a few different channels who post videos on Photoshop techniques. They each show different ways to achieve different results, apart from two of the videos which show similar content just in different ways.

The top left video shows viewers how to create the 'perfect' magazine cover, whilst using examples. They use a few different Photoshop techniques to show what looks good, and what doesn't look good for a magazine. The main thing that attracted me to this was that they show how to imitate that someone is in front of the title. There is an example of this on my research page; front cover examples. They also show a few different techniques to help the viewer's create a professional looking magazine. On the top right hand corner, this video shows how to add a splash of colour when you want the rest of the image to be black and white. They video shows a technique on how to have specific areas still in colour, whereas you put the remaining content to black and white. By doing this, you allow a certain area to stand out more than others. This is a feature I would use on my front cover page so that my models lipstick colour will be vibrant. Finally onto the bottom two videos, these are similar to one another. Both of these videos show viewers how to cut around hair on Photoshop, yet they show different techniques. The bottom left is more of a quick, yet effective way of doing this, whereas the bottom right goes more in depth but still gives a clean result. If I decide to change the background colour on my magazine cover, I don't want there to be edges around the hair line. To prevent this, these two videos show me how to get a precise cut around the hair.
