Production
For my final magazine to come together, there were a few steps I had to do. I needed to focus on the pre-production planning so that when I do start to create the magazine, everything will be set out ready for me. Before I actually start to design, I need to be prepared about possible hurdles in the future. This could consist of; pictures I need to take, understanding how to use the Photoshop software and the editing process.
I first wanted to make sure that I had all the pictures that I need before I looked into photo-shop. I had set up a few Photoshoot times with the people who were going to be in my magazine, so that I knew that I would have a certain amount of pictures taken on specific days. The main girl on my magazine had the most pictures taken of her as I wanted to make sure I had a wide enough variety to choose from when it came to decide which image would be on each page. In my opinion, I chose the most fitting images in the selections available on each page which the main girl is on. As she is on all three of my pages, a wide selection was needed as at first I didn't know what type of pictures I would pick for them all.
Once all my pictures had been taken, the next step for me was Photoshop. As I have said in previous areas on this blog, I didn't have much experience with Photoshop beforehand which was seen to be a disadvantage for me. However, I didn't see it all as a bad thing. As I hadn't explored the editing software, I got a chance to be able to be creative with my ideas. I didn't want to go all out as then it could've ended up badly and resulting into a mess. On the Photoshop page on this blog, I inserted a few video clips from YouTube of people showing viewers how to do certain tricks whilst using the software. I only picked the videos that would be relatable for me and that I would potentially use during the process.
Talking about editing, this is the part which took the longest time for me. It wasn't as simple as just started with a basic image and adding text and other features over the top of it. I first started with making sure that I had the images I wanted and set them out onto a separate page each. This allowed me to add other features around the image, or on it. I also set them up like this so I would be able to keep adding to the different three pages. The process of editing took the longest as I wanted to make sure it was perfect and that it wouldn't end up rushed when I finished. I managed my time equally on each three of the pages which I am glad I did as each one is to a standard that I am happy with.
